To be mature is to be sophisticated, cultured, and grown-up. Becoming more mature is something to be praised – that is, until it begins to show on your face. When your face shows its maturity, you know that you are beginning to look old. Wrinkles, tired eyes, and sagging jowls can all be corrected with the following facial rejuvenation procedures offered by board-certified cosmetic surgeon Jason Martin, M.D.
How Do I Get Rid of Wrinkles?
Everyone will develop wrinkles at some point, but not everyone knows how to get rid of them. BOTOX® Cosmetic can soften wrinkles around the eyes, on the forehead, and between the brows. Facial fillers such as JUVÉDERM® and Restylane® can treat wrinkles that do not respond to BOTOX® Cosmetic. For volume loss and wrinkles in the lower face, RADIESSE® and Sculptra® Aesthetic are the preferred treatments. Fractionated ablative or non-ablative lasers can also treat facial wrinkles to restore softness, smoothness, and a wrinkle-free complexion. For individuals with more severe facial wrinkles, the best treatment may be a surgical procedure such as a brow lift, a facelift, or eyelid surgery.
How Do I Rejuvenate My Eyes?
Rejuvenation of the eyes improves the appearance of wrinkles around the eyes and dark rings under the eyes. Effective facial fillers include JUVÉDERM® and Restylane® for filling in wrinkles and volume loss. BOTOX® Cosmetic and various laser treatments may also be used to treat wrinkles around the eyes. If these treatments are not sufficient, blepharoplasty can rejuvenate the upper and/or lower eyelids to refresh your look.
How Do I Get Rid of Sagging Jowls?
Sagging jowls are caused by lost skin elasticity. JUVÉDERM®, RADIESSE®, and fat transfer procedures can fill in cheek volume and redefine your jawline. Fractionated ablative or non-ablative lasers can treat wrinkles and tighten the skin, as can non-invasive treatments such as Thermage®. If surgery is needed to eliminate sagging jowls, the mini-facelift or Smartlipo™ for the neck and jowls are excellent options.
How Do I Know If I Need Surgery or Not?
Generally, Dr. Martin will first perform non-surgical treatments to correct signs of facial aging. If these treatments do not achieve desirable results, then it is time to consider surgery. In some cases, particularly if you have severe or very severe wrinkles or sagging facial skin, it may be appropriate to consider surgery up front. Dr. Martin will work with you to discuss all your options during your personal consultation for facial rejuvenation.
