Nonsurgical Facial Rejuvenation

The process of aging is one of those universal bonds connecting all people; it is inevitable and perpetual. Starting around age 30, this process hits us where it hurts the worst: the face. The face is the epicenter of our appearance, and without intervention, it can become overrun by fine lines, wrinkles, loose skin, deflated cheeks, and lost definition. The following nonsurgical treatments are safe, virtually painless, quick, effective, and provide immediate results.

The Roadmap to Natural Beauty

BOTOX® Cosmetic

A botulinum toxin formula injected into the target area that interferes with the nerve pulse and stops the muscle from contracting for a period of time.

Immediate Results

Considering there are no incisions involved when performing laser, BOTOX® Cosmetic, or dermal filler treatments, there is no scarring involved.

There may be minor bruising or swelling around the injection site, although that will minimize in a few days.

What can I do to maintain my laser treatment results?

It is important to protect the skin after undergoing laser treatment. By keeping the face shielded from the sun and using sunscreen and hats for skin protection, patients can expect the best results possible. Additionally, it is best to follow a healthy skincare regimen that includes cleansing and moisturizing twice daily.

What are some potential complications of laser skin treatments?

Risks and complications are minimal. Some may include:

  • Acne flares
  • Hyperpigmentation
  • Prolonged redness
  • Scarring
  • Swelling

What is the best laser treatment for wrinkles on the face?

Each laser treatment is designed for targeting specific skin conditions and has different components. Depending on the patient’s goals, Dr. Martin will recommend the best treatment possible. The following are the different laser options:

  • Fractionated lasers: well-tolerated and have the quickest recovery
  • Ablative lasers: remove the outer layers of skin and heat the deep layers to target sun damage and deeper wrinkles
  • Non-ablative lasers: only target the deep layers of skin to treat minor sun damage, notable wrinkles, and acne scarring

What is the recovery time after laser treatments?

Laser treatments usually have minimal to no recovery time. It can be expected for non-ablative lasers to require five to seven days of recovery. Ablative lasers can take seven or more days of recovery. Deeper fractionated lasers may involve up to 14 days of downtime and may call for three to four days off of work.

What can I expect after laser treatment?

In addition to anticipating recovery time, patients who undergo laser treatments should expect the skin to be raw, red, and swollen. Typically, this will subside within days after treatment.

How long do injectable results last?

The average BOTOX® Cosmetic treatment lasts three to four months. JUVÉDERM® and Restylane®, which both contain hyaluronic acid, can last up to six months.

What are the side effects of injectables?

Although very minimal, side effects of injectable treatments may include skin redness, skin rash with itching, bruising, bleeding from injection site, and swelling.

How much do laser treatments, injectables, and fillers cost?

According to 2014 statistics from the American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS), the average cost of a hyaluronic acid treatment such as JUVÉDERM® or Restylane® is $590. Each BOTOX® Cosmetic treatment averages around $390. Laser resurfacing is typically $2,146 for ablative and $1,062 for non-ablative. The costs of these treatments may vary upon the surgeon’s expertise, type of procedure, and geographic location.
