A tummy tuck can help you regain strength and confidence in the appearance of your belly
About Tummy Tuck Surgery
Pregnancy, weight loss, weight gain, and age-related changes, all affect the shape and contour of your belly, hips, and lower back. We can address and correct all of your abdominal concerns, including: loose and/or hanging skin, excess fat, stretch marks, and damaged/stretched muscles. A tummy tuck can help you regain strength and confidence in your midsection!
Men and women over the age of 18, with excess skin and/or fat on the abdomen, sides, and low back.
The abdomen and flanks (sides/low back). Liposuction is often added to further reduce fat in the areas around your abdomen.
It is important to be in good health and at a maintainable weight prior to surgery. If you are being treated for any chronic health condition, such as high blood pressure, we will require surgical clearance from your primary care physician prior to surgery. For surgeries requiring general anesthesia, a current EKG and basic blood work are also required. All of these precautions will contribute to a swift recovery.
Recovery from a tummy tuck can seem like a daunting challenge but with a bit of planning you will be two weeks post op before you know it! You will have restrictions on activity and lifting for 2-4 weeks. Plan on needing help with driving for at least one week and help with household chores (vacuuming, laundry, cleaning, etc) for 1-2 weeks. If you have young children, please keep in mind that you will likely have a lifting restriction of 10lbs for the first 2-4 weeks post op. Some tummy tuck procedures require surgical drains that will be in place for up to 2 weeks.
