Tummy Tuck

A tummy tuck can help you regain strength and confidence in the appearance of your belly

About Tummy Tuck Surgery

Pregnancy, weight loss, weight gain, and age-related changes, all affect the shape and contour of your belly, hips, and lower back. We can address and correct all of your abdominal concerns, including: loose and/or hanging skin, excess fat, stretch marks, and damaged/stretched muscles. A tummy tuck can help you regain strength and confidence in your midsection!

Candidates

If you are healthy enough for elective surgery and you struggle with issues that a tummy tuck can fix including loose skin, stretched muscles, belly fat and stretch marks, you are likely a candidate for this procedure.

Areas Treated

Depending on the type of tummy tuck, most or all of the issues around your belly and waist will be treated. When combined with liposuction, the contour of your torso, including your lower back, can be treated in 360-degree fashion.

Before Surgery

You should be in good health and at a maintainable weight. A medical clearance may be necessary if you are being treated for any chronic health conditions, such as high blood pressure. Basic blood work and possibly an EKG will be ordered if general anesthesia is indicated. A comprehensive postoperative care plan will be created and reviewed at your preoperative appointment.

Recovery

Recovery from a tummy tuck is daunting but very doable. It takes a bit of planning due to the limitations on activity and lifting for the first few weeks after surgery. Therefore, plan on needing help during this time frame, including assistance with driving and household chores. If you have young children, you may need help with childcare. Surgical drains will be removed within 2 to 3 weeks and you can return to normal activities around 4 weeks.

Tummy Tuck 411

Not all types of tummy tucks are the same but in general, they all have the potential to address four main issues: loose or sagging skin, resistant belly fat, stretched out stomach muscle and visible stretch marks.

Types of Tummy Tucks

We offer many different types of tummy tuck procedures in our clinic. As each one addresses a different set of issues on your belly and torso, it’s important to choose the one that is right for you.

  • Full Tummy Tuck

  • 360 Degree Tummy Tuck

  • Mini Tummy Tuck

Full Tummy Tuck

If you're bothered by loose skin, fat, and stretch marks on your belly, a full tummy tuck is the most powerful option. It is the gold standard for belly transformations as it addresses the entire belly from top to bottom.

Tummy Tuck Alternatives

Rather than seeking out a one-size-fits-all procedure, it's important to approach belly procedures with an open mind. Alternatives to tummy tucks can offer real results without all the downtime and recovery.

BodyTite

BodyTite is an in-office procedure that uses radiofrequency energy to tighten skin and melt pesky fat. It works really well around the belly and waist and when combined with liposuction, it can transform your midsection.
