About Breast Augmentation Surgery
Breast augmentation surgery with silicone or saline filled breast implants offers an amazing way to transform your breasts and improve your overall body contour. We utilize the latest breast implant technology and advanced surgical techniques to help you achieve the breasts you desire. Whether you want perky, more youthful, fuller, or more even breasts, breast augmentation offers a truly unique pathway for this transformation.
Candidates
Women, over the age of 18. The FDA requires that women be over the age of 22 to receive non-reconstructive silicone breast implants. Saline breast implants are approved for use in women over the age of 18.
Areas Treated
The breasts, typically bilaterally (both breasts). In rare cases of severe asymmetry, a breast implant may only be needed on one side to match the fully developed breast.
Before Surgery
It is important to be in good health prior to surgery. A current mammogram may be required. If you are being treated for any chronic health condition, such as high blood pressure, we will require surgical clearance from your primary care physician prior to surgery. For surgeries requiring general anesthesia, a current EKG and basic blood work are also required. All of these precautions will contribute to a swift recovery.
Recovery
For the first two weeks following your breast augmentation you will need to limit your range of motion with your arms (T-Rex arms). It will be very helpful to plan for this prior to surgery by moving frequently used or necessary items to counter height for easy access. You will also have a weight lifting restriction so you may need to enlist help with some household chores such as vacuuming, laundry, and cleaning. Underwire bras are not recommended until 4 weeks after surgery.
